Avocado and chocolate smoothie

Avocado has become one of my ultimate favorite ingredients to use for cooking, baking and sweet treats. This avocado smoothie is the perfect example. Not only this one is delicious but also extremely nutritious.

This avocado and chocolate smoothie was the bomb. It didn’t taste like avocados at all and the fact that I used frozen bananas made the smoothie like an ice cream treat, more like a shake type of thing. My kids wanted me to make more after each drunk their own serving.

Smoothies are a regular thing in our house hold. Most often than not we take them at night but sometimes I also make them for breakfast or as a snack.

When you make this avocado and chocolate smoothie make sure you freeze the ripe bananas in chunks. This is easier when adding to your blender. You may also add some flax seed meal for some added nutrition and fiber. I forgot this time around but I will when I make it again since I still have some avocados.

I need to add some more variations for smoothies in my blog however I have really good ones that you can also find in my Eat Well, Live Well eBook.

Here you can see two of the five smoothie recipes I have in my eBook Eat Well, Live Well. The left one is super power goji berry smoothie and the right one chocolate bomb smoothie.

Well I hope everyone is getting their fruits and veggies each day. If you are not I suggest you start making some smoothies, which is a great way to incorporate them all. I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t have a smoothie each day.

Enjoy!

  1. It looks awesome! Great job. :)

I’ll try your version the next time I have ripe avocados. If you try raspberries next time and use lots of them (like I do) you’ll probably need a lot more sweetener. That’s the bad thing about raspberries.

Anyway, thanks for the mention. :)

  2. Texanerin,

I will use some raspberry liquor that I have had for ever and use fresh raspberries. Can’t wait until my avocados turn ripe again :-)

  3. Wow, I love how beautifully dark yours is! That looks incredibly delicious, mine was pretty pale in comparison. I can’t wait to try a raspberry version too :D

  6. I made it and it was fantastic! I followed it exactly except I left out the triple sec and extract. And I might have added quite a bit of Stevia. :)
