What to Expect

Initial consultation

Prior to your first session, it is necessary that you complete the health and nutrition questionnaire.  Every patient will also be asked to complete a 3 day food journal.

The first session will include a comprehensive nutritional care plan and specific goals you can reach. You will receive specific recommendations and strategies. Medical history, blood work, current food intake, portion sizes, food preferences, and exercise habits will all be analyzed as part of your initial consultation.

Follow up appointments

The length of time between follow up appointments will depend on your goals and your schedule, thus the frequency of follow up visits will be flexible. For weight loss you’ll likely follow up once every two weeks. As you change your eating habits and establish a new healthy routine, you may wish to stretch out the duration of follow up appointments to monthly or once every few months.

Eat Good 4 Life can help you with:

Weight management

Eat Good 4 Life believes we live in a obesogenic society. Because large portions of high calorie food are available 24/7 and technology has essentially engineered activity out of our daily lifestyle, obesity and overweight could be considered the norm rather than the exception. The mission of Eat Good 4 Life is to teach, guide and help patients to accomplish a long term healthy lifestyle.

Eat Good 4 Life focuses on specific strategies tailored to the client schedule, budget, personal needs and family situation. Eat Good 4 Life thinks long term and gradually acting not on dieting. Dieting is often a short term tactic without long term results.

If you have had the YO-YO dieting problems it was probably due to an outcome of a quick fix diet, weight loss gimmick, or other risky strategy. Eat Good 4 Life will help you break the cycle with long term approaches rather than short term results.

Why people give up weight loss? among some reasons:

  • People feel hungry all the time
  • People crave sweets and favorite snacks
  • No professional support

When people talk about going on a diet it implies that they temporarily will change what they eat to achieve their objectives and then return to their previous and unhealthy eating patterns. This situation explains why many people on weight reduction diets ultimately regain the weight they lose. A long term approach to healthy eating is what they need which consists of two steps:

Modifying the eating habits to reverse or loose the odds of developing health problems
Maintaining the new eating habits relatively consistently for the rest of your life.

Tip: If you need to lose weight losing about 10% of your weight over 6 months is likely safe. Your extra pounds didn’t appear over night. They don’t disappear that way either!

Cardiovascular disease

It is very possible to lower your cholesterol and cardiovascular disease risk with diet and activity alone.  The dietary changes you can make does something that drug therapy doesn’t, it helps to control other risk factors such as high blood pressure and overweight, as well as diabetes and cancer prevention.
Eat Good 4 Life can assist you with your diet and lifestyle to help you lower your cholesterol and reduce your risk for heart disease through easy to follow guidelines and meal planning services.
